ICS Teams Up With New Space Launch Initiative - RLV2

Columbia, Md., June 22, 2001 -- Interface & Control Systems (ICS) announced today that they will be using the SCL expert system to provide real-time fault detection and isolation capabilities to Honeywell Space Systems to support Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM) for the next generation of Reusable Launch Vehicles.

The Integrated Space Transportation Plan (ISTP) is NASA's long-range investment strategy for safer, more reliable, and less expensive access to space by enabling the U.S. aerospace industry to develop new, privately owned and operated space transportation systems, with NASA as a customer. The ISTP reflects the needs of the aerospace industry, national security goals, and the mission of America's civil space Agency.

The main focus of the Integrated Space Transportation Plan is the Space Launch Initiative (SLI). Often referred to as the 2nd Generation RLV Program (RLV2), the SLI is a near-term business plan for NASA and its partners - including private industry, the Department of Defense, and academia - to join forces to investigate new space transportation architectures, while advancing the technologies required to profitably implement them.

ICS is a Product Development and Engineering Services Company specializing in the development of real-time, embedded, and autonomous command and control software systems. Services include software systems engineering, integration and test, intelligent e-Business solutions, and project and software life cycle management. ICS is a privately held company with main offices in Columbia, MD, and Melbourne, FL.
