SCL/NT SHIPS TO FIRST CUSTOMER

Melbourne, FL, August 1, 1996 -- The port is done, the regression testing is complete, the documentation is in place...it's time to ship!

Interface and Control Systems has shipped its first release of SCL/NT to the Applied Physics Lab in Baltimore Maryland for use on the FUSE program. The SCL/NT software will be used as the testset for the payload controller for the upcoming science mission. Engineers from our Melbourne, FL and Columbia, MD facilities collaborated on this effort to deliver this system to the customer.

"We expect the NT platform to take off" said Vice-President Brian Buckley. "The power to exploit the NT platform lies in the adhearance to the standards set forth by Microsoft. We are able to use our API to communicate with a wide variety of tools using the OLE Automation capabilities of NT".

ICS is a member of the Microsoft Developer's Network and has been developing applications under Windows NT 4.0 for many months. ICS delivers the SCL/NT product with a project-based Integrated Development Environment, a message broker based on the Distributed Computer Environment (DCE), and example interfaces to: National Instrument's LabViews, CodeWright, Visual Basic, Visual C++, and even Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. Support for the O2 Object-Orient Database is expected to be released this fall.

Interface and Control Systems has offices in Columbia, MD and Melbourne, FL and Santa Clara, CA.
