Melbourne, FL, November 2, 2001 -- Interface & Control Systems (ICS) announced today that they have integrated their Business Rules Engine with the CargoReservations.com service for the US Postal Service. CargoReservations.com, based on Orlando Florida is using the eSCL Business Rules Engine to automate the tracking of United States Postal Service cargo flights throughout the busiest portion of the holiday season. The USPS is known as the largest user of charter aircraft with the peak of service being centered in the holiday season. The USPS is using the CargoReservations.com system to manage bookings of cargo space and track efficiencies of each carrier. CargoReservations.com and ICS use an FAA data feed to actively track planes, monitor timeliness of arrivals, and keep statistics on each carrier's performance. As part of the next phase of operations with the US Postal Service, CargoReservations.com will use the eSCL system to add Intelligent Alerts to the USPS tracking system. Based on individual user profiles, proactive monitoring of milestones can result in e-mail, pager, or cell-phone alerts to interested parties. The Intelligent Alert system uses database-driven parameters to set criteria for the Business Rules Engine to process. Based on exceptions to the logistics timeline, alerts are generated and sent to the appropriate parties based on the individual profiles of the users.
