ICS has integrated CCSDS capabilities into our Mission Control Center software product suite.  These tools are based around the SCL product and infrastructure and have been deployed to Unix Servers running the Solaris operating system. 

 

Current ICS CCSDS deployments:

• FUSE – John Hopkins University (4 years on orbit)
• TechSat-21 - Air Force Research Lab
• Broad Reach Engineering – AFRL contractor

 

Uplink:

• COP-1 Maintenance for Uplink, LEO-T partner in processing for COP-1 Maintenance
• CLTU Code Block Formatting – commands broken into code blocks using BCH encoding: 7 data words, 1 check byte
• SCL capable of formatting COP-1 protocol for Uplink Encoding

 

Downlink:

 

VCDU Proc capabilities:

• CADU/VCDU transport frame processing
• Processing based on VCIDs (up to 64)
• Archives non-real-time VCDUs: logs, memory dumps, science data, etc.
• Decommutates Real-Time VCDU data using SCL’s Data I/O process
• Performs Packet and BLOB reassembly
• Frame Accounting by frame ID – lost frames
• Performance: Low end Sun Blade processing 400 VCDUs/sec ~500bits/second, scalable based on higher performance hardware.
